Action Description & Characteristics
The composition of fertilizers and the ratio of elements have been selected taking into account the biological features of oil crops. Fertilizing rapeseed and sunflower with this fertilizer before the beginning of flowering ensures an increase in yield and seed quality.

DOSES AND PERIODS OF FERTILIZATION OF CULTURES
Features of mineral nutrition of oil crops
Oil crops, except for safflower, which is a relatively new crop in Ukraine, are very demanding on the conditions of mineral nutrition. From macroelements - this is nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulfur. From microelements, especially necessary - boron, manganese, zinc, molybdenum, iron. According to scientific data, 50-70 kg of nitrogen (N), 25-30 kg of phosphorus (P2O5), 40-70 kg of potassium (K2O), 40-70 kg of calcium (CaO), 7-12 kg of magnesium (MgO), 20-40 kg of sulfur (S), 80-120 g of boron (B), 400-550 g of manganese (Mn), 130-170 g of zinc (Zn), 4-6 g of molybdenum (Mo) are required for the formation of 1 t of rapeseed seed.
Lack of boron in the autumn period stops the growth and development of the root system of winter rapeseed, growth points, reduces the accumulation of sugars and other high-energy compounds, their transport to the root collar, and worsens the frost and winter hardiness of the plant and, as a consequence, reduces productivity.
The formation of the rapeseed harvest is of great importance, and the provision of plants with macro- and microelements in the period from bud formation to the beginning of seed ripening is of great importance. It is just the balanced nutrition of microelements that depends on the fullness of the pods and, accordingly, the level of the harvest.
In the nutrition of sunflower, three periods are conditionally distinguished:
- First - from the appearance of shoots to the formation of the inflorescence, when the plants moderately assimilate nitrogen and potassium and intensively phosphorus;
- Second - from the beginning of the formation of the inflorescence to the beginning of flowering, when the plants intensively assimilate all nutrients;
- Third - from the beginning of flowering to the beginning of the ripening of seeds and the formation of oil, when the plants again moderately assimilate nitrogen and phosphorus and intensively potassium.
Boron and copper increase the content of oil, zinc - phospholipids and organic acids. In addition, boron significantly reduces the damage to sunflower by white rot and other diseases, which contributes to the preservation and improvement of the quality of the harvest.
Also, sunflower is very sensitive to the deficiency of sulfur and manganese. These elements have a direct impact on the assimilation of nitrogen by plants, the productivity of photosynthesis. Fertilizing plants with a foliar application in the period of seed formation ensures an increase in the yield of seeds and the content of oil in them.
