Role and Features of Calcium-Boron Complex Use

Calcium is involved in water, carbohydrate, and nitrogen metabolism in the plant, neutralizes the action of organic acids, regulates metabolic processes, water, and physiological balance of the cell, necessary for the plant to synthesize nucleic acids. It is closely related to photosynthesis and energy exchange.

Boron, performing an auxiliary role, contributes to the accumulation of sugars in the marketable part of the crop, thereby improving its quality.

The most sought-after is the composition of calcium-boron on vegetable and fruit crops. The application of this composition directly affects the quality, shelf life, and market appearance of this product. By supporting the structure of fruit and vegetable cell membranes, calcium prevents premature aging and improves the possibilities of storage and transportation of fruits.

Calcium Deficiency Symptoms in vegetable crops are most noticeable on young leaves, which become chlorotic (formation of light-yellow spots). Old leaves, on the other hand, become dark green and increase in size.

In fruit trees, young leaves become small, curled, and on some, light-blue spots appear, growth buds often die and fall off, young roots become brown.

In some apple varieties, fruit cracking and brown spotting of the skin are observed. These symptoms are intensified by wet and cold weather, when calcium movement in the fruit is delayed.
