System of Autumn Foliar Fertilization of Winter Rapeseed.

The autumn period is extremely important in the technology of growing winter rapeseed for obtaining the planned yield.

Special attention of the agronomist requires control over the formation of a powerful root system – a defining factor of successful overwintering of rapeseed plants. For this purpose, winter rapeseed plants require a sufficient level of feeding with macronutrients and micronutrients, among which nitrogen, phosphorus, magnesium, boron, and manganese have an exceptionally important value in autumn.

  • Nitrogen – necessary for the growth of the vegetative mass of plants,
  • Phosphorus – provides the growth of the root system, optimal rosette, and participates in the synthesis of nucleic acids,
  • Magnesium – participates in the synthesis and functioning of chlorophyll, as well as the synthesis of ATP – the energy carrier in plants,
  • Boron – provides normal development of leading bundles, growth points, promotes the accumulation and transport of sugars to the root neck, and improves the cold- and winter hardiness of the plant and overwintering as a whole, prevents deformation and double-rooting of the rapeseed root system,
  • Manganese – participates in the process of photosynthesis and protein synthesis.

During the development of plants from the 4-leaf phase, they begin to intensively apply growth-regulating substances, insecticides, and fungicides. Taking this into account, we propose to conduct foliar fertilization with the ECOLINE Boron (Organic) 0.5 l/ha and ECOLINE Phosphite (K) 1.0 l/ha. This will allow for simultaneous protection of plants and feeding with key elements.

An important feature of boron is that it is poorly mobile in the plant, so fertilization should be performed in several stages (2-3 times) every 2 weeks in an amount of 0.5 l/ha. In case of a sharp deficiency, it is recommended to increase the total amount of boron to 1.5-2.0 l/ha.

For plants experiencing stress caused by unfavorable weather conditions, the positive effect of applying products with amino acids and phytohormones, which promotes intense growth of the root system and participates in the synthesis of nucleic acids, is noted.

  • In such a situation, we recommend conducting foliar fertilization with ECOLINE Phosphite (K) in the amount of 1.0-1.5 l/ha + ECOLINE Boron (Premium) 0.5-1.0 l/ha.
  • On fields with light-grained soils, eroded, where the manifestation of a lack of magnesium and boron is possible, use ECOLINE Boron (Premium) 1.0 l/ha + ECOLINE Magnesium (Chelates) 1.0-1.5 l/ha + ECOLINE Phosphite (K) 1.0-2.0 l/ha.
  • On fields with low phosphorus supply or with manifestations of phosphorus deficiency, we recommend ECOLINE Phosphite (K) 1.5-2.0 l/ha + ECOLINE Boron (Premium) 1.0 l/ha.
