Post-germination fertilization of winter cereals after vegetation recovery.
Under unstable weather conditions – sharp temperature fluctuations from -15°C to +15°C, lack of precipitation, the main fertilizers applied in autumn and nitrogen applied in winter, or frozen soil remain blocked and inaccessible to plants. As forecasted rapid warming up to mid-March will be observed, vegetation recovery of plants will require nutrient supply and will be under stress conditions. At this time, wheat forms important productivity elements. Therefore, the level of harvest depends on the conditions under which these processes occur. To eliminate the manifestation of nutrient deficiency, it is advisable to perform the first foliar application of winter cereals and add special fertilizers containing phosphite.
It has been proven that phosphite products provide:
- Availability to plants starting from +5°C;
- Removal of phosphorus deficiency symptoms and assistance in nitrogen uptake;
- Stimulation of secondary root system growth;
- Prevention of plant disease development;
- Stimulation of dynamics of growth of the vegetative part of plants – the basis
- of future harvest;
- Activation of photosynthetic apparatus of plants;
- Increasing the volumes of carbon uptake in the process of photosynthesis – a direct path
- to growth of mass and quality of harvest.
Considering the state of plant development taking into account the results of practical application in previous years, we recommend:
1. On plantings where the overall condition of plants is satisfactory and there are no signs of stress, the first post-germination fertilization should be performed using ECOLINE Phosphite Fertilizer (K) – 1.5 l/ha + ECOLINE Magnesium (Chelates) – 1.5 l/ha.
2. On areas with poorly developed plants and those under stress – the first fertilization should be performed using GROS Phosphito-NP in doses – 1.5 - 2.0 l/ha + ECOLINE Magnesium (Chelates) – 1.5 l/ha or ECOLINE Zinc (Chelate) 1 l/ha
Also, in case of strong stress and plant damage, it is recommended to add anti-stress agent POLYACTIVE BOOST at the standard rate of 1 l/ha.
