The first foliar feeding of corn is an important stage in forming the future harvest.

In the 4–6 leaf stage corn actively forms its root system and vegetative mass and lays down its productivity potential. It is in this period that plants especially need available zinc, one of the key micronutrients in corn growing technology.

Zinc takes part in metabolism, photosynthesis, the synthesis of enzymes and growth phytohormones, and improves the efficiency of nitrogen uptake.

For the first foliar feeding we recommend

  • ECOLINE Zinc (Chelate) — 1.0 l/ha + ECOLINE Phosphite (K) — 1.0–1.5 l/ha

or

  • ECOLINE Phosphite (K-Zn) — 1.5–2.0 l/ha

Such feeding helps to:

  • activate the growth and development of corn
  • improve the uptake of nutrients
  • support the development of the root system
  • supply plants with available zinc, phosphorus and potassium
  • increase plant resistance to stress

Timely foliar nutrition is an effective tool for supporting crops at the start of vegetation.
