This is one of the important stages for assessing how evenly and correctly the crop is developing.

What do we check?

1. The root system and the root collar. We assess the development and strength of the root and the condition and diameter of the root collar. We look for signs of damage, hollowness or other developmental disorders. It is also worth mentioning phosphite: it supports root system development and the physiological condition of the plant. If needed: ECOLINE Phosphite (K) — 1.0–1.5 l/ha.

2. The leaf apparatus. Not only the number of leaves matters but also their size, color and overall condition. We separately assess how evenly the plants develop across the field.

3. The growing point. We check its position and condition. A compact, well-formed rosette indicates balanced plant development.

4. Boron supply. Boron takes part in the growth and development of meristems, the formation of the root system and the normal functioning of plant tissues, and is also important for accumulating sugars for overwintering. Therefore it is important to take into account not only visual symptoms but also the risks of deficiency given the field conditions. If needed: ECOLINE Boron (Organic) — 0.5–1.0 l/ha.

5. The overall condition of the crop. Are the plants evenly developed? Are there suppressed areas? Are chlorosis, deformations or other signs of deficiency and stress visible?

The main thing: we assess not a single indicator but the plant as a whole. Such field diagnostics helps to understand the real condition of the crop and, if necessary, to adjust the nutrition system in time to the needs of the plants.
