Right now corn is at the 6–9 leaf stage — the start of tasseling. This is one of the most critical periods of development, when the plant intensively consumes moisture and nutrients and forms the future yield.

What happens during the heat?

High temperatures significantly reduce zinc uptake, which slows the synthesis of auxins, the hormones responsible for plant growth and development. As a result, corn tolerates stress worse, slows its growth and cannot fully realize its potential.

Boron is no less important in this period. Its shortage negatively affects the formation of viable pollen and the fertilization process, which can lead to gaps in the kernel rows and incomplete ear filling.

How to help the plant?

  • GROS Amino-Zn (0.5–1.0 l/ha) — the combination of L-α-amino acids and chelated zinc helps overcome stress faster, supports active growth and makes more efficient use of moisture.
  • ECOLINE Boron (Organic) / (Premium) (0.5–1.0 l/ha) — ensures full pollen formation, improves fertilization and promotes even kernel set on the ear.
  • ECOLINE Complex Corn (Chelates) at 1.5–2.0 l/ha — a balanced micronutrient complex in the form of 100% EDTA chelates that helps corn work more efficiently in the heat, supports intensive growth and ensures maximum realization of yield potential.
