Main objectives of the first foliar fertilization of sunflower are as follows:
Activation of plant growth;
Boron nutrition supply;
Suppression of disease-causing agents (fungistatic effect)
Depending on soil conditions, temperature, moisture availability, possible manifestation of after-effect of foliar fertilizers applied as a pre-cursor and at sowing, we recommend using the following foliar fertilization schemes:
1. To ensure sunflower boron nutrition in the 3-5 leaf stage, we recommend using ECOLINE Boron (Premium) at a dose of 1.0 l/ha. Boron application in combination with L-α-amino acids promotes better boron uptake and mitigation of negative stress effects of various nature.
2. On soils with low fertility and significant spread of disease-causing agents in the soil, it is advisable to conduct foliar fertilization with a tank mixture of ECOLINE Boron (Premium) 1.0 l/ha + GROS Phosphito-NP 1.0-1.5 l/ha to enhance plant vegetative growth and restrain disease development.
3. On carbonate soils with a coarse-grained composition and under water deficiency on sunflower plants, zinc deficiency symptoms may appear. In this case, instead of GROS Phosphito-NP, it is advisable to use ECOLINE Phosphite (K-Zn) at the same dose of 1.0-1.5 l/ha.
4. In case of visible or laboratory analysis-based establishment of other nutrient element deficiencies (manganese, iron, molybdenum, etc.), for foliar fertilization of sunflower plants, the corresponding chelating fertilizers of ECOORGANIC company can be used.
